Kim Kardashian is actually using her fame for good for a change.
Instead of lying about morning sickness just to land another endorsement deal, the reality star has joined a number of other celebrities in demanding answers for the mysterious death of Sandra Bland.
Bland, 28, was pulled over by a Texas State Trooper earlier this month after allegedly committing a traffic violation.
Dash cam footage has depicted a verbal dispute between her and Brian Encinia, with the latter demanding Bland put out her cigarette at one point.
The video then finds Encinia threatening Bland with a taser, forcing her from the vehicle and placing her under arrest, without giving a reason why.
Bland can be heard at one point saying that Encinia assaulted her.
The incident took place on July 10 and Bland was found dead three days later while still in police custody, reportedly from respiratory distress.
In the days since, officials have categorized Bland’s death as a suicide, alleging she hanged herself in her cell.
But Kardashian Tweeted on Thursday night a thorough investigation must be conducted.
"#WhatHappenedToSandraBland We need answers!!!!" she wrote. "This is NOT ok! This is all shady! They need to own up to this & tell the truth."
About an hour later, Kardashian Tweeted again, writing: “#MassiveCoverUp #WhatHappenedToSandraBland."
Other stars who have commented publicly on the incident include Nicki Minaj, Kerry Washington and Taraji P. Henson.
