Kanye West was feeling generous, blessed, artistic, loved, etc, so he put another ring on Kim Kardashian's finger.
Before the world caved in after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, all eyes were on a massive piece of jewelry Kardashian has been flaunting.
According to TMZ, the 20-carat ring - designed by Kardashian's friend, celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz - is worth $5 million.
Kardashian's $1.3 million engagement ring, also designed by Schwartz, is 14 carats.
And as sentimental as that engagement ring is, it's for poor people and Kim Kardashian deserves an upgrade.
West gave Kardashian the ring during Fashion Week simply because he loved her, sources told the site.
Mrs. West happily sported the massive piece of jewelry at a September 9th Harper's Bazaar party for the couple's friend, Carine Roitfeld.
Sources close to Schwartz told TMZ that the rock is an emerald cut type IIa diamond.
Translation: "pretty rare, close to flawless."
Back in 2013, West worked with Schwartz on the ring he would propose with at San Francisco's AT&T park.
West "was involved in every single way. He had a vision from the beginning," a rep for Schwartz said after the engagement.
"He looked at a lot of stones and he wanted only the best.
"He and Lorraine emailed back and forth, and stayed up nights discussing how he wanted it to be. He wanted the diamond to look like it was floating on air.
Everything was his idea from beginning to end."
Just a few days after attending the proposal (West Surprised Kardashian by inviting family and friends, including Schwartz), the jeweler briefly talked about the design in New York.
"First of all, it's a perfect stone, but what makes it perfect is that it comes with so much love," she told Us Weekly.
When asked if West was a tough client, Schwartz laughed and ended the interview.
Schwartz, who is active on Instagram, took a photo with the newly engaged couple at the time, captioning it with a slew of hashtags.
