Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson have been dating for almost a year now.
But how much of that time have actually spent in the same part of the world?
When they first started hooking up, Pete was still appearing on Saturday Night Live, and the gig kept him anchored to the East Coast.
Kim, of course, has four kids, a burgeoning legal career, a reality show, and about 40 businesses that all tie her to the LA area.
So in the early days of their relationship, Kim and Pete had to go great lengths to spend time with one another.
Their relationship survived that difficult early perious — as well as Kim’s crazy ex and his attempts at sabotage!
Pete quit SNL at the end of the season, and fans were hopeful that he would move to LA full-time in order to spend more time with Kim.
Pete might still do that — but in the meantime, the couple is dealing with a brand new distance issue.
Davidson has spent the past several weeks in Australia, where he’s filming the movie Wizards! with Orlando Bloom.
Obviously, that’s prevented the 28-year-old from spending any time with Kim, and it seems that the project might have Pete Down Under for as long as three months.
That sort of distance and time is enough to put a strain on any relationship.
But according to a new report from E! News, Kim and Pete have had no trouble maintaining their closeness while living on opposite sides of the world.
“The distance hasn’t been an issue for Kim and Pete’s relationship while he’s been away filming,” an insider tells the outlet.
“They are still going strong and making it work.”
“When they are apart, they are in constant communication,” the source adds, explaining that they “FaceTime consistently” and are “always getting quick phone calls in when they can.”
Kim has said from the start that no one’s ever made her laugh quite like Pete, and it seems his comedic chops are just as sharp from 8,000 miles away.
“Kim loves that he’s always making her laugh and he truly makes her day when they talk,” the insider says.
“She is still smitten over him and it just works for her.”
Fortunately, it seems that Pete and Kim already have plans to see one another when Pete makes his way back to the northern hemisphere.
Unfortunately, even then they might not have much time together.
“Pete plans to come back to L.A. after filming wraps to spend time with her for a few days,” the insider tells E! News.
Yeah, “a few days” probably isn’t what Kim had in mind after being separated from Pete and his BDE for three months.
But based on what her previous comments about their adventures between the sheets, these two probably don’t need much time to make up for lost time.
