The THG Celebrity of the Year Countdown has nearly reached its apex.
Kate Upton, the most beautiful woman on the planet, got the list started at #10, while Walter White checked in at #9 and Jennifer Lawrence caught fire at #8.
Christian Grey whipped and chained his way to #7, with Twerking at #6, Justin Bieber at #5 and troubled baller Lamar Odom at #4. With Kate Middleton having a child at hitting #3, we've now reached the #2 spot in our rankings. And it goes to...
KIM KARDASHIAN AND KANYE WEST!
Yes, 2013 was the year in which the world's most vapid reality star and one of the world's most talented rappers turned themselves into one PR-generating entity: Kimye.
And it actually all started at the tail end of 2012 when Kanye told the world he had knocked up his famous girlfriend. Watch the announcement here:
From there, it was pretty much all Kimye all the time. There was debate over the gender of the child, along with rumors that the couple would make it North West.
But that wouldn't actually happen... would it? Yup. It really did. Kim gave birth five weeks early on June 15.
However, the public didn't see little Nori for a long time. Because Kardashian was being unusually private? Because the premature baby needed some time to become fully healthy? We'll never known, but Kanye finally unveiled a photo of his daughter while appearing on Kris Jenner's talk show in August:
Kim remained off the radar after that, acting like a full-time mother and keeping her post-baby body a mystery.
But then, on her birthday no less, Kardashian received the surprise of a lifetime: Kanye proposed! In AT&T Park! With the couple's family and friends in the stadium to help the couple celebrate!
When will the pair get married? Some time in 2014, we think. Where will the ceremony take place? Possibly somewhere far away, such as Paris. Will it be televised? Come on. Of course it will.
Kardashian has since come out of hiding and revealed her revamped bikini body to the world, while the public wonders whether this is an appropriate act for a mother.
But one thing remains certain: Kimye is not going anywhere any time soon. They will likely rank highly in 2014 as well, following a wedding and - who knows? - possibly the announcement of a second kid on the way.
