The second night of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians Season 9 premiere event saw the relationship drama of Khloe and Lamar continue to play out.
Anyone reading the news for the past six months basically knows the result.
Bombarded 24/7 with rumors and speculation surrounding the demise of her marriage to the former NBA star, we saw Khloe Kardashian starting to crack.
It's one thing for the family to deal with something like the Kim Kardashian sex tape. However unfortunate, she has herself to blame and it catapulted her to fame.
The public end of a relationship, especially under these circumstances?
Another story entirely, and Khloe, despite her tough exterior, is very sensitive. When she reads about Lamar's father bashing her family, she loses it.
Can you really blame her, considering who's to blame for all this?
Speaking of Joe Odom, Lamar proves his heart is still in his relationship by calling up Khloe (and Kim) constantly, assuring them he is equally disgusted by Joe.
Lamar tells her that family is his family, and even sends Kim Kardashian a Twitter rant he plans to post in which he vehemently defends his famous in-laws.
He did in fact post said rant, too, as we saw a few months ago.
His sentiments are commendable, or at least they would be if he showed the same commitment to overcoming his own demons or fixing his marriage.
It becomes apparent when Khloe has to remind him over the phone not to skip out on his appointment with his lawyer that he simply doesn't have it together.
One gets the sense that Khloe is exhausted by him, and it's hard not to feel genuine sympathy for the struggles she's going through with this head case.
Like the first part of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiere a night earlier, the fact that we know the outcome didn't make it any easier to watch.
Elsewhere, Kim's best friend Jonathan Cheban pays her a visit, at which point Kris Jenner chastises her daughter for basically being a great mom.
Yes, you read that right.
Kim is getting comfy with this "mommy thing," but can't stay cooped up forever, according to Kris, who would rather see her shopping and clubbing apparently.
Naturally, Kris decides to prove just how fun she can be (Kim be damned!) by stepping in and suggesting that she and Jonathan go on a "secret" trip to Sonoma!
The two takeaways here:
- Kris sucks.
- This is how the Ben Flajnik rumors started.
At least there was Scott Disick.
After a couples therapy session in which he was urged to find a positive activity he can engage in alone so he can become a better partner, he took up karate.
Lord Disick, Martial Artist?
Not necessarily. Scott merely pretends he's attending karate classes when he's really just hanging out with Rob and trying to mimic karate moves online.
He eventually gets busted, but rather than throw a fit, Kourtney can't help but laugh at his foiled plot ... and after the heavy storylines of this episode, neither can we.
