When Kim Kardashian and Kanye West got engaged in October 2013, the event paid off in a lifetime of love, happiness and multiple children.
But it has also now literally paid off for the rich and famous couple. Allow us to explain why...
As many surely recall, Kanye surprised Kim by inviting all her loved ones to AT&T Park in San Francisco in order to witness his kneeling proposal.
Among the guests, however, was Chad Hurley, a co-founder of YouTube who weaseled his way into the event.
Despite signing a confidentiality agreement, Hurley went ahead and filmed Kanye's proposal, posting the footage on MixBit... against the couple's clearly stated wishes.
West and Kardashian were furious (not because they wanted to keep it private; because they wanted to release the footage on their own terms) and their attorney quickly filed a lawsuit against Hurley.
Now, according to TMZ sources, a settlement has been reached in which Hurley has agreed to pay $440,000 to Kimye in order for the lawsuit to be dismissed.
This would be a windfall for most, but Kim and Kanye are doing pretty well for themselves already.
It would also be a blow to the bank account for most, but Hurley sold YouTube for $1.6 billion.
So the rich get richer and another rich dude loses some pocket change.
Now we can go back to wondering whether Kardashian's pregnancy lips are real or fake.
