Last week, we reported on the surprising news that Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson had broken up.
Now, Kim and Pete were always a bit of an odd couple, but by all outward indications, they were very, very into one another.
So the sudden split blindsided fans of the pair, many of whom were quick to offer their condolences.
Of corse, Kim and Pete’s breakup is currently being celebrated by the couple’s number one hater.
We’re talking, of course, about Kim’s ex-husband Kanye West.
Kanye has been doing everything in his power to come between these two since the moment that news of their relationship went public.
And shortly after he learned of their split, West gloated on Instagram in a way that many commenters found repugnant.
On Monday, West posted a fake newspaper headline about Davidson’s death.
It was not the first time that the rapper fantasized about the demise of his romantic rival.
While Pete and Kim were still together, Kanye made a music video in which he decapitated an animated likeness of Davidson.
Not surprisingly, the months of threats and harassment have taken a toll on Davidson, who’s been quite open in the past about his mental health issues.

“The attention and negativity coming from Kanye and his antics is a trigger for [Pete], and he’s had to seek out help,” a source close to the situation tells the outlet.
The insider adds that Pete “has no regrets for dating Kim and wants it to be made very clear that she’s been nothing but supportive of him throughout their relationship.”
The couple’s breakup was confirmed on Friday by a different insider.
“Kim and Pete have decided to just be friends,” the source shared.
“They have a lot of love and respect for each other, but found that the long distance and their demanding schedules made it really difficult to maintain a relationship.”
The insider added that the couple’s age difference factored into their decision to call it quits.
“Pete is 28 and Kim is 41 — they are just in very different places at the moment,” this person claimed.
“Pete is totally spontaneous and impulsive and wants her to fly to New York, or wherever he is on a moment’s notice,” the source went on.
“But Kim has four kids and it isn’t that easy. She needs to focus on the kids.”
The insider says that Kim has been “totally exhausted by this relationship and other things going on in her life.”
The fact that she’s still in the process of finalizing her divorce from Kanye probably isn’t helping matters.
Insiders believe that Kanye has been dragging his feet and prolonging the divorce process in the hope that Kim will consider giving their marriage a second chance.
That’s probably just wishful thinking on West’s part, but he’s likely feeling rather encouraged this week in the wake of Kim and Pete’s split.
It’s unclear what role, if any, Kanye’s harassment campaign played on Kim and Pete’s decision to go their separate ways.
But the rapper’s obnoxious behavior will surely be remembered by many, including his own kids.
